Pimps in the Pulpit?
The church is getting hit pretty hard lately, folk are constantly using terms like "Pimps in the Pulpit," Marriage Scandals, money scams and lust seems to be running rampant, and the world is looking at it all saying "I told you so" the questions is why, are we giving them the ammunition they need to put us on blast?, or are they just hating the way Jesus said that they would.

well, i know from personal experience that there are some men in the pulpit that think they have absolution and can do as they please. i have witnessed first hand the adultry, smoking weed drinkin and cursing. two have even gone as far as the set up women for their out of town freinds that come to preach a revival or just visit. it is out of control. we have put ministres on pedastals and reverenced them as gods...at least i have til i learned better. i grew up thinkin that ministers were the epitomy of all things good and pure...i was disillusioned. they are indeed just men who fall and some get up and recover well from the fall.others stay down but in a new postion.
I am a little lost for words on many of this that is going on. I am not for many of the items the preachers spend their money on, but what about the money they get for pastoral care do they not get to spend that as they see fit? I don't know about the details and why this information is wanted. I am just concerned also that in the blog from the site the person is only and pointing the finger at the Black (african american) preachers only. That upsets me, there were request made of other non-black preachers. I am just tried of people wanting to make the black church out to be so bad. We have our problems like ever other church, so I don't like when people pin-point the race and not the issue.
Sorry for being ssssooo late sending my response. Now, are their pimps operating in today's pulpits...YES there are! What's more sad than that is the congrants choice of blindness. It's as if God only has this one tainted man and his tainted "first lady" (what ever that is) as voices for his message. I challenge anyone to find in the bible the lifestyle of most of these so called men and women of God who (in my opinion) want the riches & wisdom of Soloman...The the position & charisma of King David...And the privy of reading Pauls notes. Some of the most renound ministers today have it all including all of your money. Who & when did ANY of the apostles, deciples or prophets have an entourage. Who or when did ANY of the deciples, apostles, or prophets + they entourage at the 5-star resort in Galilee, Lebanon, Sidon, Caesarea Philippi, Capernaum and of the course the famous city of all Bethlehem an credible view of the birth place of Christ. Remember Hebrews 13:8Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and TODAY, and FOREVER. With that said Jesus instructed his deciples in Matthew 10:7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
"8": Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
"9": Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,
"10": Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.
"11": And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, inquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.
Now remember Jesus is the same yester, today and forever. Therefore I don't think he's gonna change his instructions because today's pimps have decided that God wanted them to roll like kings and queens and be served instead of serving. Let me give an example of this as I know it to be. A friend of mine Pastor, recently invited I.V. & Bridgette Hilliard to there church for a week long speaking engagement. They booked them one of the top suites at the finest hotel in down town Mobile. Well, this hotel just didn't measure up to the good doctors standards so tey decided to fly back & forth for Texas (on their private jet) each night...Needless to say wasiting gas, time, effort and enegry. The explaination the good doctors gave was that they were more comfortable sleeping in Texas. Well bless their lil' (and I mean little) ole' hearts. Most of the congrants were offended by not only actions but their inner-actions (or lact there of) with the pastor, his wife and those (hand picked few) selected to serve them. What a shame!!! Then again is it. When such behavior is allowed.
The people or the followers of these "blessed" men and women of God are just as responsible for their outrageous behavior as they are. Who are the ones feeding into all this crap they serve up? Who are the ones constantly raising them up and putting them in places God never intended? It's only when the people realize that we're all equal and that God doesn't annoint any one person wholeheartedly seeking him than the next. If so, that would me Christ a respecter or persons and that's something that he isn't. If your pastor like Eddie Long, Dr. $$$, Benny Hinn, Paula White, T.D. Jakes, ect. has to have a bodyguard while speaking (what they say what they say is) a word from God, in what is suppose to God's house truely is contradiction of God's word. After all Isaiah 17:54 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
After the all they are ones telling you to go in some of the worse communities there are and take em' back, yet they are afraid to stand in the church "they" built and speak a word for "their" god...Hhhuuummm.
