Making History VS. The Word of God

What is more important to you, making history by electing the first black president to office of Commander and Chief of this nation or standing by the Candidate who best supports Gods word.

First of all, what makes you think Sarah Palin and John McCain suPports Gods word. According to my bible, they don't!
Once again America is poised to vote for the so-called "christiaan candidate" ... Geo W Bush and look where we are now.

The question is loaded. To set one against the other seems to presume the one who is NOT black is more consistent with God’s Word. Which part? The one about faithfulness to one’s spouse? Divorce? Or, is the one who lifts up the poor and working class and protects the weak and powerless from becoming the greater prey of the powerful? Which is more consistent with the Word of God? The rich got much richer and the poor got… You can finish it, can’t you?
I’ve been around many in this area who seem to lack the ability to discern between Christianity and conservative Republican politics. From ministers on down, some seem as familiar with Rush Limbaugh rhetoric as they are with praise and worship. Singular litmus testing for years has been abortion and homosexual rights/issues and we’ver heard it so much, we respond with almost a Pavlovian drool.
But since that seems to be the center of the argument, one should ask how Sodom got that way. How did they become so famously selfish, violent and sexually deviant? Its worth a look.
Ezekiel 16:49, 50 describes a condition that could very well be us. “Look, This was the Iniquity Of Your Sister Sodom: She and Her Daughter had Pride, Fullness Of Food, and Abundance Of Idleness; Neither Did She Strengthen the Hand Of the Poor and Needy. And they were Haughty and Committed Abomination Before Me; Therefore I Took Them Away As I Saw Fit.”
Sodom sounds a LOT like us, doesn’t it?
The candidate more consistent with God’s Word? Which part?
We are to pray for those in authority everywhere. But some current realities are obscenities, a list of them. Both domestic and abroad, WE are now the hypocritical, self-centered and arrogant bullies in the eyes of the whole world.
Truth is, the Bible says that covetousness IS idolatry. That is God's Word, too. I think this means greed based decision making, whether on a personal or governmental level IS idolatry. Maybe we need to humble ourselves and repent of our own idolatry.
This is a significant election.
But as long as that litmus test can be pointed to, and the morally conflicted and non-thinking folks go no further, the necessity for change may not be regarded as urgently as it should be.

The Republicans pointed the finger at the abortion/homosexual litmus test AND at “Tax and spend Democrats.” But those certainly cannot or should not be the ONLY considerations, should it?
Reagan & Bush1 left a millstone of debt the next generation would carry. This was done after “saving” money by putting crazy folks out of institutions and on the streets as homeless, wasn’t it? Yes, the Soviet Bloc fell, but such a tremendous deficit was left, it looked impossible to pay off.
Yet, during Democrat Clinton’s years, that deficit was PAID OFF! A SURPLUS was created. Clinton was absolutely brilliant, but flawed, as others. I admit that it felt like we ALL needed to bathe at the end of his run. It was like watching Jerry Springer.
You may not have meant it to sound this way, but the question is phrased like, either the Word of God is more important to you/me/us, OR, the vote for Obama is.
But, for the good of the country and world, unless something else happens, we may have our first black, (more precisely, our first Bi-Racial) president. It is a realistic possibility that may speak well of both Mr. Obama and America. I am optimistic things may change and get better.
But don’t let a morally conflicted litmus test be the only consideration, or the singular frame of the debate.

Unfortunately, some African-Americans are not interested in the establishmentarianism of God's Word in our society; think about it for a moment, what does Senator Obama stand for? He does support partial birth abortion, he does not support drilling for oil in our own country this action will produce jobs and a surplus for our economy, he want to raise taxes on middle American (Oh, he says, that he will only raise taxes on big business, such as Wal-Mart, Sears, Target, Firestone, Ford, General Motors, Costco, and other major businesses that most middle class Americans frequently buy from; now, if their taxes are raised, then, so will all Americans taxes be raised because we will have to offset the tax burden on big businesses.) His foreign policy plan to deal with rogue nations that has in their interest to destroy this nations has been somewhat inconsistent; he has waffled on major Middle East concerns that deals with a nuclear Iran, and now Russia has decided to appropriate Iran with the necessary informational data to completely formulate their nuclear program.
Senator Barak Hussein Obama is against restructuring the public school system, which is a noted failed system across the nation; he’s also against allowing families to have the option of taking their children out of the failed public school system and placing them in a school system (either private or charter school system) that has a proven success rate at the expense of our tax dollars! Exactly, aside from being the first African-American Democratic nominee for President, what may I ask, will he institute for the betterment of our Republic that can and will stipulate his position as not only the first “Black…” but solidify his character apart from that of Senator John S. McCain’s’?
And, this is most important: while Senator Obama served as the Illinois Senator, he voted on all positions as “present.” What is his passion, his desire for being President of the United States? First, as Christians we must apply some wisdom in our capacity as voting Americans; Abortion on demand, same sex marriage, reinstituting the meaning of what constitutes a family and issues yet to come to light. The Scripture instructs us to judge in matters of holiness and righteousness, “Do not judge so that you will not be judged.”For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. "Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? "Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' and behold, the log is in your own eye?”You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye” (Matthew 7:1-5). After we have sanctified ourselves by removing the log from our own eyes, then we will see clearly to judge righteously! God requires us to know our surrounding and to engage society (Ref. Matthew 28:19-20), we must begin to view people as Christ Jesus did, He knew that they/we needed a Savior and with that understanding, seek God in prayer for guidance. Pray that God in Christ Jesus will receive all the glory and honor and that His children will praise Him in their time of need. And, yes one last bit of information, are you actively involved in the political restructing of our nation, or are you a spectator?

Two very interesting/valid comments, that I must pray and review with my Father in Heaven, because both bring up very good points, but I do remember Gov. Regan closing the state mental hospitals ( I grew up here in Calif.) and we did see more homeless people on the streets with more problems than just drug addictions. The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer and where is the middle class? How can MaCain relate to me or others trying to make it when he dosen't even know how many houses he has? With so much wealth? This is really a (2) edge knife that we are dealing with. I and really glad that I have God/Jesus Christ in my life, because in Romans 28:8 ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD FOR THOSE WHO LOVE THE LORD AND ARE CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE...

Supporting God's word is the most important, no matter who the candidate is.

First off, we as CHristians should not put our trust or faith in any man, but our Heavenly Father. It's amazing how so many Americans of different ethnic backgrounds depend on a mere human being to bring change to our world. To all my black sisters and brothers out there, Barack Obama is not the Messiah!!! I'm just glad that I have Jesus Christ as my Savior because he will never leave us nor forsake us.
The word of God is our authority, no matter what any man says. Even though I am not thrilled about any of the presidential candidates, even if they do profess Christianity. What does that mean? So many people say that they are Christians, but their actions show the exact opposite. How can Senator Obama say he is a Christian, but say he supports abortion. The same man that voted for partial birth abortion after viewing pictures of full term aborted babies. How can Senator Obama profess to be a Christian when he supports planned parenthood whose primary focus was putting abortion clinics in black communities to control the black population. I don't get it. How can Obama support the homosexual agenda, and yet call himself a Christian. What bible is he reading from? God was not playing when he destroyed Sodom and Gommorah. Homosexuality is a sin. Thats it. Thats why we need to love and pray for the homosexuals, because they are lost and they need a Savior just like everyone else. We have to take the Word of God seriously or God will bring judgment on our land, and He already has. God is against abortion and homosexuality. When I look at the situation in America, I go back to 2 Chronicles 7:14, ''If my people who are called by my name humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land. That's all we need to do. It's not about Democrats and Republicans or who's for the rich and who's for the poor. It's Morality that counts in the end. If we as Americans just act right and turn from our wicked ways and follow God He will work everything out, not a man. We need to stop putting our faith in politicians.
As for Mcain, I still haven't quite figured him out yet, but he does believe in the sanctity of life meaning he is pro life and he is against same sex marriages. Other than that, we will see come election day. People of God pray for our leaders, no matter what. I believe we as Christians need to vote from a biblical perspective, if we claim to live for Jesus and do what is right, it is our duty to vote as if Jesus were right their in the voting booth with us. We will all be held accountable for the decisions we make in this lifetime. Lana

Supporting God's word is the most important to me. However I am not sure that either candidate profess Christianity. Therefore,we must ask God for wisdom to discren who is the wolf or Shepherd {right person.}

Therefore, we must pray at all times that whoever is voted into office is under God's authority.(not man)
